Stone Filipczak, one half of the indie people duo @, has introduced his debut album below the moniker E.R. Go to. my kids will ignore you, my kids will sort amen might be out October 24, and its enchanting first two singles, ‘Burning Bush’ and ‘Bees within the Sofa’, are out now. Take a hear beneath.
In an announcement concerning the new tracks, the Maryland-born, Philadelphia-based artist stated:
‘Burning Bush’ is the oldest music on the album, written on the porch of a Baltimore punk home I lived in round 2015 or so. The flutes at first had been recorded individually for a special music which acquired scrapped. They jogged my memory of what a burning bush would possibly sound like so I included them as an intro.
‘Bees In The Sofa’ is called after an event the place I slept on an outside sofa whereas on tour with Palberta. The sofa was on a coated porch – everybody else slept inside on the ground. Within the morning our host awoke and stated “don’t sit on the porch sofa, it’s filled with bees.” I didn’t get stung and the picture of the sofa filled with bees remained in my thoughts.
Filipczak recorded a lot of the new album whereas paying hire to a landlord who believed he was a spy, forcing him to maneuver to Philadelphia. “The interval through which this album was recorded ended up being outlined by this man who had financial energy over me, by being my landlord, slowly going loopy and shedding contact with actuality,” Filipczak recalled. He added, “A whole lot of the songwriting is the detrimental area left behind by what @ grew to become.”
