A posthumous album by the late cult people singer and visible artist Ed Askew is being launched on Drag Metropolis. Out July 31, The Last Portray options contributions from, amongst others, Invoice Callahan and William Tyler; Sharon Van Etten sings backing vocals on the one “Grey Air-o-Aircraft.” Under, watch a video that units the track to photographs of Askew’s work.
Askew made The Last Portray with producer Jerry David DeCicca—who additionally helmed his 2013 album For the World—working from demos Askew recorded in his condominium between 2020 and his demise in January 2025.
