With a lot motion happening in LA this week and weekiend, there’s a solo exhibition of recent work by Canyon Castator referred to as Cannon Fodder, openings as an off-site set up introduced throughout Frieze Week Los Angeles, in collaboration with Diane Rosenstein Gallery.
This exhibition coincides with Mohilef Studios Second Annual open studios occasion in  DTLA with 30+ Los Angeles-based artists. Castator’s solo present options 5 large-scale work that use satire to deal with our social actuality, bringing collectively an exuberant mix of figures culled from the web, trendy media, politics and private expertise. Canyon Castator (USA, b. 1989)  balances digital and conventional portray strategies on the canvas. He makes preparatory drawings on an iPad, the place he articulates the composition, meticulously arranging the figures. Among the characters are then printed on the canvas with a particular Claymation aesthetic, whereas others are realistically rendered in oil.
