This week I discuss with Lynne Gouliquer and Carmen Poulin forward of their Shannon lecture on Monday November 24 entitled “Purging the Canadian Army of ‘Sexual Deviants’: The Conflict on 2SLGBTQIA+ Members and Their Companions from the Nineteen Sixties to Current.’ We discuss concerning the administrative order that established the coverage of purging homosexuals from the army and the way it was executed. We additionally talk about Lynne and Carmen’s analysis, their interviews with members who had been purged, and the long-term implications on households.
