Philly guitarist Emily Robb is an if-you-know-you-know underground treasure. Once I requested Store Regulars’ Matt Radosevich who he was spinning two years in the past, Robb was his reply. She’s put out two albums of noisy, primitive shredding by way of Fairly Bunco, and at the moment she releases one thing totally different.
Robb’s soundtrack for the brief movie The House Between Assault And Decay is a little more versatile than her predominant catalog. There’s some fairly acoustic music with delicate tremolo choosing (“Shiny Sister Theme”) and a few full-on rock band motion (“Dance Music”), all of it recorded cleaner and brighter than Robb followers are accustomed to. I hope she by no means provides up messing round within the muck, however it’s cool to listen to her pursuing this imaginative and prescient too. Test it out beneath.
Robb’s The House Between Assault And Decay soundtrack is out now on Petty Bunco.
