Darius Puia is a digital artist primarily based in Germany who creates hyper‑detailed cyberpunk, sci‑fi and surreal worlds, usually combining 3D and 2D to construct futuristic cityscapes, dystopian architectures and enigmatic objects like torus portals.
His work is pushed by a love of intricate sci‑fi constructions, sturdy lighting and coloration, and “thought‑scary tales” about know-how, isolation and doable futures, influenced by Ghost within the Shell, video video games (together with The Matrix PS2 recreation), and wider dystopian fiction.
Darius describes himself as “designing the long run, one dystopian art work at a time,” and focuses on towering neon cities, lonely figures, floating constructions and symbolic machines (e.g., “Torus Enigma,” “The Cradle,” “Ghosts from the Previous”). Mild, shade and narrative are central: he goals to make each bit really feel like a body from a bigger story, and teaches this strategy in his course “Mild, Shade, and Story: Designing Cyberpunk Worlds in 3D.”
