A gorgeous sequence by Brooklyn-based photographer Jack Sorokin. “The Final Days of Summer season” options portraits and nonetheless lifes taken in Cognac, France in late summer time. Created over a brief, targeted interval, the photographs seize the emotional texture of a second suspended between the depth of summer time and the gradual pull towards fall. Additionally it is an exploration of the fleeting power of youth and the nostalgia that arrives as seasons shift.
“There’s a pressure between time and timelessness, mirrored within the juxtaposition of weathered stone buildings and vibrant blooms‚ symbols of age and impermanence set towards the insistence of life. The photographs are tied collectively by environment, colour, and a tactile sense of sunshine and temperature. They transfer between intimacy and distance, private reminiscence and collective feeling. At its core, the challenge invitations viewers to replicate on longing, change, and the quiet emotional weight that comes with transition.”
