Splice – a platform maybe greatest identified for its royalty-free samples and different plugins – has unveiled Splice INSTRUMENT, a brand new flagship digital devices participant providing creators “world-class recordings with intuitive artistic controls”.
In-built partnership with the staff at Spitfire Audio – which Splice acquired in April for a reported $50 million – Splice INSTRUMENT comes loaded at launch with over 1,200 playable instrument presets, with many taking inspiration from the gear collections of world-class musicians.
Such presets embrace Philip Glass’s beloved child grand piano recorded in his Manhattan house, drums by Abe Laboriel Jr. (Sir Paul McCartney) captured on the iconic Henson Studios in Los Angeles, and strings, woodwinds, and drums from the BBC Symphony Orchestra recorded at Maida Vale Studios in London.
With an accessible interface and full MIDI playability, Splice says extra free and premium presets shall be added “frequently, alongside characteristic updates within the months forward”.

Splice Instrument is usable each as a standalone plugin and as plugin inside any main DAW. The software program is available in two plans:
- Free – obtainable to all Splice customers, with a whole bunch of sampled presets together with pianos, orchestral devices, choirs, synths and extra. Every month, new free “drops” shall be launched, and as soon as downloaded, they’ll stay completely in a consumer’s library.
- INSTRUMENT ($12.99/month) – Unlocks the complete catalog of 1,200+ presets at launch, together with flagship sounds similar to Extremely Gentle Piano, orchestral classes carried out by the BBC Symphony Orchestra, synths designed with Nathan Pretend, and world style packs like Amapiano.
