Roger Daltrey Accuses Zak Starkey of ‘Character Assassination’

Roger Daltrey has accused Zak Starkey of character assassination, declaring that the fuss over the Who drummer’s current dismissal was “extremely upsetting.”

Starkey served within the band for 29 years earlier than he was fired in April after an onstage incident throughout the band’s efficiency at Royal Albert Corridor.

Daltrey is mentioned to have complained about Starkey overplaying throughout the present, telling the gang: “To sing that tune I do want to listen to the important thing, and I can’t. All I’ve received is drums going growth, growth, growth. I can’t sing to that. I’m sorry, guys.”

I really like the Who and would by no means had [sic] stop.”

In a brand new interview with the Instances, Daltrey gave his facet of the Royal Albert Corridor story and all the things that has occurred since. “[The sound] is managed by a man on the facet, and we had a lot sub-bass on the sound of the drums that I couldn’t pitch. I used to be pointing to the bass drum and screaming at [Starkey] as a result of it was like flying a airplane with out seeing the horizon. So when Zak thought I used to be having a go at him, I wasn’t. That’s all that occurred.”

“It was form of a personality assassination and it was extremely upsetting,” he added of the following fallout. “Pete and I retain the fitting to be The Who. Everybody else is a session participant.”

The Who launched their The Track is Over farewell tour final month in Italy, with Scott Devours taking up for Starkey on drums. The tour hits the US on Aug. 16 in Dawn, Florida and is presently scheduled to conclude on Sept. 28 in Las Vegas.
