Reside Nation has reached a settlement with the Division of Justice over a federal antitrust lawsuit accusing the corporate of monopolizing the stay leisure business, in response to a report from The Related Press. NPR has not independently confirmed the settlement. The trial, which started per week in the past in a New York Metropolis courtroom, aimed to interrupt up Reside Nation and its subsidiary, Ticketmaster.

Prosecutors are expected to argue that Live Nation and its subsidiary, Ticketmaster, have engaged in anticompetitive practices that profoundly harm musicians, venues and ticket buyers.

A lawsuit filed by the Justice Division, the District of Columbia and 39 states in 2024 accused Reside Nation and Ticketmaster of unfairly wielding their energy over live performance promotion, artist administration, venue operations and ticketing providers to close out opponents. The Biden-era Justice Division criticism was moved ahead underneath the Trump administration. In earlier feedback shared with NPR, Reside Nation denied the federal government’s claims and acknowledged that there’s extra competitors within the ticket market than ever.

Reside Nation and the Division of Justice didn’t instantly reply to NPR’s requests for remark.
