After starring in all the pieces from TV’s First Wives Membership to the RZA-directed movie Love Beats Rhyme, actress and singer Jill Scott is making her long-awaited return to music with To Whom This Might Concern, her first album since 2015’s Girl. I’m sharing my lovely individuals most actually.”
Scott first broke by as a spoken-word artist within the late ‘90s earlier than getting recruited by Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson to contribute vocals to his nascent Soulquarians collective. Scott’s first album, 2000’s Who Is Jill Scott?: Phrases and Sounds, Vol. 1, was nominated for Greatest R&B Album on the 2001 Grammy Awards.
