The deathcore vocalist first heard excessive vocals at round eight years outdated (he was born in 1994) when his dad put Headbanger’s Ball on TV and Lamb of God‘s “Laid to Relaxation” music video was on. “I bear in mind not liking it in any respect the primary time I heard it,” he says. “I by no means heard something even near it in my life.” A few yr later, the music and extremity had grown on him and he favored it.
When he first tried to do harsh vocals himself, Duerr says, “I bear in mind whispering it out and type of getting a really feel for the way to make the whisper sound of what I used to be listening to.” And he tried it out with a Slipknot tune.

With this crude setup many future vocalists absolutely used on the time, Duerr tracked vocal covers of Massacre and Cannibal Corpse songs.
