After almost a decade of insisting that Twisted Sister was executed for good (and making loads of feedback about bands that do in any other case), Dee Snider is strolling again his stance — and he is the primary to confess he is simply as stunned as anybody.

In a brand new chat with Steve And Rik‘s POTcast, hosted by Kix vocalist Steve Whiteman and Rik Parks, Snider opened up about what made him rethink bringing Twisted Sister again collectively 9 years after their 40 And F*ck It! farewell tour wrapped up.

“Why am I doing a reunion with Twisted Sister?” Snider sighed. “I am going to say that it was my thought. The [other] guys could not even consider I used to be making the decision. And it needed to do with — I mentioned this publicly already — I had slightly little bit of a well being scare. It was okay, however it was sufficient to make me say, ‘Wow, that was bizarre.’ I by no means had to consider these issues earlier than. And I am 70 years outdated, and I am, like, ‘Do I wanna exit like that, go silently, or do I wanna go kicking and screaming?'”

Snider mentioned he picked up the telephone and referred to as guitarist Jay Jay French and Eddie Ojeda: “They could not consider I used to be suggesting it, ‘trigger I advised ’em, ‘[It’s] not occurring. [It will] by no means occur.’ However circumstances, significantly emotional ones, made me change my thoughts. Am I regretting it? Just a little bit proper now, sorry to say. [Laughs]”

After all, Snider is not shy about the truth that time has taken its toll: “I do know that I’ve misplaced a observe. My voice is highly effective as fuck. However I am lacking my prime notes, and I hate that. Individuals go, ‘Holy crap, man. Your voice sounds as robust as ever.’ And I’m going, ‘For 4 songs. Yeah, I am nice for 4 songs. However 90 minutes? 75 minutes? 60 minutes? That is rather a lot.'”

Nonetheless, Snider‘s not taking this reunion calmly. The person’s again in North Carolina, surrounded by household, and he is already planning weekly rehearsals with a neighborhood band to get again into combating form.

When Whiteman advised him it was “courageous” to step again into the ring after so lengthy, Snider laughed: “I am [either] courageous or silly. In 2016, I used to be 175 kilos, shredded, 29-inch waist — at 62! I would take my shirt off and folks have been like, ‘What the precise fuck is happening there?’ Wives have been hitting their husbands going, ‘Why do not you appear to be that?'”

He continued: “While you begin singing and you are still delivering, the viewers simply lights up. I would see fathers turning to their sons, going, ‘That is Dee fucking Snider.’ They have been being transported again to their youth by means of the efficiency. And I cherished that. I do not ever wanna see a glance of dissatisfaction.”

The 2026 lineup will embrace Snider, founding guitarist Jay Jay French, and longtime lead guitarist Eddie Ojeda. Notably absent can be bassist Mark “The Animal” Mendoza, who has opted out of the reunion, with Snider describing the explanations as “irreconcilable variations”. Taking his place can be Russell Pzütto, a well-known face from Snider’s solo initiatives. Behind the drums can be Joe Franco, who briefly performed with the group within the mid-Nineteen Eighties, stepping in for A.J. Pero, who handed away in 2015.
