Nostalgia-infused, techno-futuristic work by Slovenian artist Matija Bobičić. Bobičić accomplished his research in artwork pedagogy on the School of Schooling in Maribor beneath the mentorship of Ludvik Pandur and Oto Rimele. His observe explores the intersections of science fiction, popular culture, and Balkan folklore. Weaving collectively threads from the previous, current, and future, his artworks deliver collectively sci-fi archetypes and characters throughout the context of the early Nineteen Nineties in addition to the challenges of the current second. Bobičić attracts inspiration from the world of Warhammer 40k and The Imperium of Man. Simply as figures like Frankenstein’s monster and the cyborg spoke to fears of change of their respective eras, the characters in Warhammer mirror our anxieties concerning the future and the function of know-how in our lives—making a dialogue that speaks to our shared human expertise.
