A number of work by Melbourne-based artist Jackson Howell aka beachghost. Drawing from an upbringing immersed in nature alongside the Victorian coast in addition to an intense urge for food for movie, video video games, and anime, beachghost’s work explores the intersections of popular culture and mythology, creating imagery that really feel each acquainted and unsettling. He invitations viewers to revisit the tales of their youth, distorting nostalgic recollections and reimagining them with a quiet unease. Darkish, evocative themes are mixed with immersive worlds inhabited by surreal creatures and remodeling figures. Whether or not deconstructing acquainted pop-culture iconography or conjuring fully new characters from his personal internal world, beachghost crafts visible narratives that invite viewers into scenes that blur the boundaries between creativeness and reminiscence.
