Until you rely final yr’s rarities assortment, it has been three years for the reason that Melbourne digital pop auteur Katie Dey launched her final album, by no means falter hero lady. That streak is about to finish. In simply 4 weeks, Dey will drop her new LP common will. There’s not lots of information in regards to the undertaking on Bandcamp, Instagram, or her official web site, however opening monitor “for you” is out now, and it is a stunner.
The music rocks tougher than Katie Dey tracks of yore, beginning with heavy pounding drums and electrical guitars, and it expands to a near-epic scope, shifting form throughout five-plus minutes. But there is a clear connective thread together with her previous work, particularly within the lyrics, which string collectively vivid, generally disturbing photographs. I am keen on the road “not an individual only a bundle of information factors.”
