As lots of you now know, our previous buddy and former bandmate Calvin died on Thursday. We’re totally shocked and deeply saddened.

Upon listening to the information, we determined to speak privately with different individuals who knew him nicely earlier than posting something publicly, which is why you’re listening to from us now. This gave us a approach to share our recollections, categorical our feelings, and start to return to phrases with such a tragic loss.

The three of us have been brothers in arms for a unprecedented second in time, one by which we managed to the touch the world with the music we created collectively. 40 years on, and no matter the truth that Calvin was not within the band, we all know he remained extremely pleased with the truth that our songs and recordings, particularly from the “Flip Again The Clock” album, proceed to resonate with so many individuals.

It’s within the brightness of that second, and with the reminiscence of the nice comaraderie we as soon as shared, that we’ll keep in mind Calvin.

Calvin Hayes was born in London on November 27, 1962 and co-founded Johnny Hates Jazz in 1986 with Clark Datchler and Mike Nocito. They signed to Virgin Data and broke by the next 12 months with their hit single “Shattered Desires.” Their album Flip Again The Clock was a hit, topping the UK Albums Chart.
