In Love Letters, Hilary Pecis captures the mundane moments and under-appreciated views of day by day life. The Los Angeles-based artist presents a collection of recent acrylic work in her signature saturated fashion, specializing in snippets of a yard pool, the nook of a studio worktop, and a pleasant picnic full with a radiant strawberry cake.
Pecis prefers to work from pictures and interprets singular moments onto linen. Using a uniform opacity in her paints, she incorporates each comparable and exaggerated colours and affords explicit consideration to texture and sample. Frilly fronds on a plant, mild radiating off the water’s floor, and the tough texture of a woven tablecloth every proof the artist’s meticulous course of.
Love Letters opens at David Kordansky Gallery in Los Angeles on Might 16 and runs via June 20. Till then, discover extra of Pecis’ work on Instagram.
