The Corridor simply shared the nominees for the Class of 2026 earlier right now (Feb. 25). Of the 17 nominees, 10 have appeared on the poll for the very first time. The rock and steel artists that have been nominated embody The Black Crowes, Jeff Buckley, Phil Collins, Billy Idol, INXS, Iron Maiden, Pleasure Division/New Order and Oasis.
Mariah Carey, Melissa Etheridge, Lauryn Hill, P!nk, Shakira, Wu-Tang Clan, New Version, Sade and Luther Vandross make up the remainder of the 2026 nominees.
“This various checklist of proficient nominees acknowledges the ever-evolving faces and sounds of Rock and Roll and its continued influence on youth tradition. Induction into the Rock and Roll Corridor of Fame is music’s highest honor and we look ahead to celebrating the Class of 2026 this Fall,” Rock Corridor Chairman John Sykes stated of the nominees.
With a purpose to be nominated for induction into the group, the artist’s first official launch needed to have come out 25 years in the past — an album, EP and even single counts towards eligibility. Thus, the recording should’ve come out within the 12 months 2001 for a musician to have been nominated for the Class of 2026.
