Cashier are right here to rage. We knew this from final month’s absolute banger “Like I Do,” and the Louisiana four-piece is proving it once more with “Half From Me,” the second single from their forthcoming EP The Weight.
“I had loads of enjoyable penning this track,” bandleader Kylie Gaspard says. “Musically, it is a love letter to singing, and a celebration of rock guitar. I used to be looking for one thing playful for the verses, and I created this melody that goes forwards and backwards with the guitars. Lyrically, the track seeks connection, exploring the space between two folks; the push and pull of coming again round to one another, however the connection by no means fairly making it — like when two magnets repel — and the invitation to be/not be part of one other individual’s life.”
