A meditation on the lifetime of the shepherd by Italian photographer Maurizio Rampa. Rampa travels the world, making an attempt to seize the expertise of dwelling life at one other tempo and rhythm. “The Shepherd” is only one part from a bigger venture referred to as Postcards from Nowhere—a journey journal during which Rampa poses himself questions and contemplates something new or unpredictable that life on the highway has thrown at him. On this case, Rampa encountered the shepherd whereas dwelling in Armenia. Touring within the area of Alagyaz, Rampa discovered himself drawn to their ritualistic and nomadic life-style, in addition to their bond with nature and the animals they have an inclination to. A reminder of what life was like earlier than the arrival of our trendy world.
“I watch the shepherd marching on, leaving the settlements far behind. I watch the herd merge with the panorama. I inform myself that it takes braveness to stay such a life. The shepherd leads and the sheep observe, they belief solely him. As I watch them I ponder who leads the shepherd: in whom does he place his belief?”
