
At the moment touring Europe, jazz musician and trumpet participant Takuya Kuroda sits down with FRANCE 24 to talk about his beginnings within the business and his recording course of. Initially from Kobe in Japan, Kuroda says the nation’s jazz scene, notably vibrant in Tokyo, inspired him to go to New York. The Huge Apple, he says, continues to be an influential “melting pot” of cultures and types. In relation to “up to date crossovers” in his personal music, Kuroda credit jazz vocalist José James, whom he met throughout his research, with exhibiting him the way to mix jazz with different genres like funk and hip-hop.
